The weather was perfect and around 40 riders
came to participate. This was a well organized ride. The weather
was in the high forties low 50's when we left the Top Hat in Spokane,
WA. We rode to the Chewelah Casino where many of us had lunch. Then we
rode to Blue Creek and over to Hunters. Homemade stew was waiting for us
here to help warm us up. Then we rode thru the Westend of the Spokane
Indian Reservation, thru Wellpinit and to Kurt's Corner (store). All
along the way on the reservation we found people along side the road
with pictures of Sweeny, waving us on and taking our pictures. Then we
rode on to the Pow Wow Tavern in Springdale, WA.
Sweeny was a member of the Spokane Tribe, a
family man, a business man, a biker, a very well loved man, and a man
who's life was taken for no good reason. This ride showed the support
the family has through family, friends, tribal members and through the
riding community. This ride meant more to me then just an another ride.
Sweeny was one of my cousin's. We grew up together. He is and will be
greatly missed.
